How to reach Split

 

Being a traffic centre Split is well connected by sea, air and mainland lines. With an international boat line it is connected with Ancona (Italy), and along the coast with Rijeka and islands. The journey from Ancona will last approx. 10 hours while you can reach Split in 4,5-5 hours with a catamaran.

Split airport is connected with regular lines with bigger European cities and is 25 km away from Split centre. Flight schedules and all other information you can see here. Split is well connected with coach lines with all other major Croatian and European cities. The main coach station is located in the centre in the vicinity of the ferry harbour. Railway wise Split is connected with Zagreb and since Zagreb is connected with Europe coming to Split will not be so difficult. The railway station is located in city centre in the vicinity of the ferry harbour and main coach station. The journey from Zagreb to Split will take you approx. 9-10 hours and a detailed timetable is available here.

If you decided to manage through your vacation by car, and are arriving from Zagreb direction we suggest you take the highway which will take 3,5 hours of your time – the price list and all other information are available here or you can take the old Adriatic road from Rijeka – in the latter case the journey will last 5 hours.
